About Todd

I'm a Georgia native, though I have also lived in Kentucky, North Carolina, and Virginia. At the age of 20, I began experiencing debilitating bouts of anxiety and panic. The resulting decline in my ability to function led in turn to a deep depression, for which I finally sought help. It was this experience that started my lifelong search for the answers to human suffering.

Throughout my thirties, I trained to be an Episcopal priest, a pursuit that  ironically led me to leave Christianity altogether. This presented many personal crises, some of which I resolved through my studies of Zen Buddhism and its tenets of mindfulness and impermanence. I now identify as an atheist and a secular humanist. I make a point of advertising this because many of my clients have experienced mistreatment at the hands of organized religion and have had trouble finding a purely secular counselor.

I hold two master's degrees: a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Master of Arts in Religious Studies. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Georgia, a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, and am trained in EMDR. The thinkers who have had the greatest impact on my work as a therapist are Carl Rogers, John Bowlby, Thich Nhat Hanh, and Bessel van der Kolk.

AboutTaylor

I also grew up in small-town Georgia, eventually moving to Metro Atlanta in search of a more progressive environment. While in my 20s, I had my own struggles with depression and alcohol abuse until I was forced to face the
reality that nothing was going to change if I didn’t take steps to make change happen. Starting therapy for myself was the beginning. Finding a safe, non-judgmental space was so refreshing that I wanted to provide that same space and connection for others who might be struggling.

I hold a Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. I am an Associate Professional Counselor in the State of Georgia and a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor. I have experience working with survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, as well as with individuals in the justice system. I enjoy working with adults, teens, couples, and the LGBTQ community. The quote that best defines my philosophy is by Carl Jung: “Know all the theories, master all the techniques, but as you touch a human soul, be just another human soul.”

About Lynsey

I have a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Georgia State University. I identify as a queer counselor, and have experience working with adults across a range of issues, including anxiety, depression, borderline personality disorder, neurodivergence, LGBTQIA+ identities, and trauma. I take a secular, strengths-based approach to my work and mainly incorporate Internal Family Systems, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Person-Centered techniques within the counseling relationship.

After experiencing my own struggles with mental health and witnessing the struggles of my loved ones, I decided to make therapy my life’s work. I knew I wanted to be to others what my therapists were to me: An unwavering holder of hope and an invitation to believe better things. In my free time, you can find me in one of three places: 1) in the kitchen, where cooking is my ultimate form of self-care, 2) curled up on the couch watching The Office or 3) at Walt Disney World.
